2. Artis Royal Zoo
Artis is the oldest zoo in the Netherlands. You can admire close to a thousand different species here, including lions, elephants and giraffes. Additionally there is an impressive planetarium as well as an educational center specially designed for children. The Artis Amsterdam zoo is also a great place for nature lovers as it offers the opportunity to see a large variety of trees and plants in its beautiful gardens. Another amazing perk about this zoo is that it is located in the heart of the city, making it an easy half day trip with kids.
Amsterdam's prettiest and most famous park features a lot of activities for kids. There are multiple playgrounds to keep the little ones busy, including a water playground during spring and summer. From May until September there's a free open air theatre in the park. The lineup includes a variety of music, dance and theatre performances as well as an extensive kids program.
