About Stromma Netherlands
Tourist company Stromma Netherlands (formerly Canal Company) has been part of the Swedish Stromma Group (Strömma Turism & Sjöfart) since 2016. As part of this group, Stromma Netherlands has been active in shipping and tourism for over 200 years. With a long history in Amsterdam, starting with Rederij Bergmann and Meijer’s Rondvaarten (in the 1920s), we grew from the oldest and largest shipping company in Amsterdam into an international tourist business. Stromma Netherlands carries the brands 'Canal Tours Amsterdam', 'Canal Tours Utrecht', 'Hop on-Hop off', 'Amsterdam Excursions' and 'Amsterdam Pass', with distribution channel Stromma.com.
Host of Amsterdam
Each year, as the Host of Amsterdam, we welcome 1.5 million guests on 32 canal cruise boats, a passenger ship on the IJ, 14 open boats, a saloon steamer, 100 pedal boats and six buses. As a tourist company, we also offer tickets for museums and attractions, we organise excursions in the Netherlands and Belgium and we sell souvenirs. Stromma Netherlands also develops products and activities that help to show visitors areas of the city outside of the city centre, such as the A’DAM LOOKOUT. A’DAM LOOKOUT is the observation deck on the A’DAM Tower, where 530,000 guests experienced Amsterdam from above in 2017. With our newest product, the Amsterdam Pass, we offer a full package of tourist activities in and around Amsterdam.
Together with an enthusiastic team of around 350 colleagues, Stromma Netherlands aims to provide all international guests as well as guests from across the Netherlands with an unforgettable experience and lifelong memories in Amsterdam.
